Additional Information
To become a practice owner. I'd like to acquire an existing practice in the Salt Lake Valley. I would love a family dental practice that focuses on preventing disease (caries, periodontitis, tooth infections) and helping people keep their teeth a lifetime. I've had a lot of training with full arch reconstruction/full mouth rehabilitation and would like to do that more so that I can be a resource to those that need it.
As a Minnesota native, I attended the University of Wisconsin—Madison for my undergraduate studies where I discovered my love for science and research. I determined that healthcare was the field for me to be in as I a, very compassionate and love to serve other people. I pursued my dental school education at Roseman University College of Dental Medicine, in South Jordan, Utah, in 2020. In dental school, I served as class president and student council president because I really enjoyed serving my classmates and my school. Inspired by my Samoan heritage, I was familiar with the discrepancies in oral health in minority populations and I want to bridge that gap by educating my patients and providing quality care to medically underserved patients. Outside of my passion to help others through dentistry, I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter, running, hiking, snowboarding, yoga, and going to concerts.
I was awarded the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Scholarship for two years while in dental school which paid for 2 years of tuition while I owed 2 years to working at a FQHC. Once I graduated from dental school in 2020, I have worked at FQHCs and finished my scholarship commitment in 2022. I then applied for Loan Repayment Program in 2022 and am waiting for my commitment to finish on September 7, 2024. For the past four years, I have taken over 100 CE hours each year of being a dentist. I finished the Dr. David Hornbrook courses, the Arrowhead New Dentist Plan, and am going to start Kois next year. I am eager to learn so that I can treat my patients better-that is my motivation. I hope to be a resource to patients who are interested in Full Mouth Rehabilitation and Smile Design. I work very closely with my dental labs Utah Valley Dental Lab and Revolution Dental Lab.
