Additional Information
I desire to have my own practice in the area of Ann Arbor or in surrounding areas. I prefer to work for myself, I have had good experiences as an associate but at the end of the day desire to have an autonomy and a measure of success that rewards me.I would like to work four days a week and have time for my familyI would like to use newer dental technologies including in house scanning, milling, and printing of restorations.I would like to be putting in 100 hours of CE a year to stay on top and be an early adopter of techniques. I do not want to sit back and say "Oh man, I should have been getting involved in this much earlier".I prefer a biomimetic approach to dentistry. I do not want to deliver poor quality dental materials to patient as a means to pinch pennies.
I have a lot of that in my CV, a little about me is that I don't really trust a blurb in a webpage to tell you enough. But here it goesI graduated in 2018, enjoy general dentistry. I am professionally fulfilled as a dentist.I love dogs, fishing, videogames, laughing and enjoying life, and family. I strive to make patients enjoy themselves, it's hard to find a good time in the dental chair so if I can at least provide something positive to the experience I believe that counts for a lot.
I'm a General dentist who believes that it takes 10,000 hours to master a technique or procedure.I am confident in my posterior composite restorative techniques, my anterior direct and indirect techniques. I feel less confident about joint-based occlusal treatment planning due to lack of training and experience, and even after learning some of the Spear and Panckey CE's I can't say I have fully implemented their techniques.I am confident in the use of digital scanning and lab techniques to design, mill, and finish a restoration such as Lithium Disilicate or milled Zirconia. I've used 3shape, CEREC, and Medit scanners, and mostly am familiar with 3shape and CEREC's design software. I desire to move to 3d printing restorations such as inlays and crowns. It would be nice to avoid placing large direct composite fillings and instead mill out or print out a restoration for that purpose. I feel that is more conservative versus cutting a tooth down to the CEJ circumferentially because we see a mesial crack in a lower molar from a small occlusal amalgam.I am decent at extractions and bone grafting with simple techniques, but I have neither mastered nor enjoy extracting impacted wisdom teeth.I have had training on restoring implants, have restored many, but other than pig jaws I have not placed an implant. I desire to, but have not had an office that has a cone beam to design a guide on hand, and am not confident in just freehanding an implant at the risk of puncturing through the cortical plate (or worse). If I can't do it with a good plan, then I'll refer the procedure.Endodontics, I can do them, I can do simple canals, I can attempt complex molars. I feel comfortable with single cone hydraulic condensation using a bioceramic sealer over continuous wave and something like AHPlus sealer, but I also prefer to refer to an endodontist who uses enhanced irrigation techniques such as gentlewave or the endodontic laserSpeaking of lasers, I am certified to use lasers. I haven't used one like the Solea or Waterlase but I would definitely get a kick out of it. I am confident in using a soft tissue laser.
I am licensed in Michigan, Colorado, and Washinton. I am in good standing with the ADA, and am a member of the AGD. I took various CE's but focus on biomimetic and digital dentistry for the moment. I would like to pursue a Spear or Kois training.
