Additional Information
I would like to work at a dental practice where I am able to expand my skillset to include skills ranging from digital dentistry to implant placement. Additionally, I would like to work at an office that has friendly and supportive staff, and one where I can develop a mentorship with a senior dentist and possibly become a partner as time goes on.
My name is Jordan Mayo, and I am a general dentist currently practicing in Suffolk County NY. I was born and raised right here on Long Island, and went to Tulane University for undergrad and NYU College of Dentistry for my dental training. Following dental school, I completed a one year residency program in general dentistry at Northwell Health Long Island Jewish Hospital.Although I have only been working in private practice for over a year, my passion for dentistry began when I was just a child. I must have been five or six years old, when my dad sustained an injury while at an acupuncture office. He had a vasovagal reaction from the treatment, passed out, fell off the table and knocked out his four front teeth. I have vivid memories from my childhood where I would go with him to the dentist, OMFS, endodontists, and periodontists, and I would slowly watch as a smile was restored. It took approximately a year and a half for my dad’s smile to be restored, but I remember instantly after the final visit, he had his confidence back. Even at such a young age, I was able to see the impact dentistry could have in a patient’s life. It was from then on, I had decided dentistry was the profession for me.Aside from dentistry, my interests include playing guitar, skiing, hiking, golf, and much more.
