To utilize the skills and knowledge I've gained to serve as an empathetic, knowledgable, and passionate dental provider and improve the oral health needs of my community
My general dentistry residency was an intensive and immersive one-year residency at the Augusta VA, and has enabled me to effectively diagnose and treatment plan, as well as receive advanced training in removable/fixed prosthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, quadrant dentistry, placing and restoring implants, crown lengthening, and surgical extractions and procedures. I was entrusted to comprehensively manage my patients’ dental care, from initial examination to recall, and see a full schedule while managing hygiene exams. We also worked alongside oral surgery attendings at the Augusta State Medical Prison for surgical extractions and biopsies. Even during residency, I continually sought out opportunities to develop my knowledge and speed. For instance, I took CE courses to further deepen my skills in treatment planning, endodontics, surgery, and implantology. I decided to undertake an optional residency to effectively and confidently treat more dentally and medically complex patients, and I am continually open to expand my skillset and learn new aspects of dentistry to deliver excellent care to my patients.
I treat every patient with kindness, and have been known to alleviate tension especially in those with dental anxiety. I love connecting with others, working alongside a close team, and aim to bring out the best qualities in everyone.I have committed previously to a year-long fellowship where I mentored youth from low-income immigrant families and developed a prevention project to address oral health and education disparities. My continual presence in community service has given me the ability to strength my communication skills and interact compassionately with patients from various walks of life to ultimately become a better provider.
