Purchasing a private practice as a husband and wife team is the goal, and we hope to make that goal a reality in 2024! We feel that despite the rise of corporate dentistry, we can maintain a family-focused private practice that puts patients first. It is our hope to find a practice that compliments our values and fosters a culture of patient autonomy and beneficence, while avoiding as much as possible third-party involvement in the provider-patient relationship.
My personal time is devoted to taking care of my children! During the rare breaks we get, I love to be outside. Favorite activities are Kayaking, Sailing, Hiking, Fishing, Golf and Hunting. Aside from dentistry, I am a dental officer in the United States Army (Reserve Component) and have completed dental mission trips in Guatemala, Poland, and the Kingdom of Tonga. Service is personally important to me and I hope to continue to provide dentistry in this capacity throughout my career.
My approach to patient care is one that combines confidence and competence with pragmatism and compassion. Patients are often very comfortable with both me and my wife, and I find that I do very well with anxious patients especially. I learned quickly that the dental anxiety patient is one that, if you can earn their confidence, will be your most loyal in the long term. While clinical competence is essential, the nurturing of long term patient relationships is what drives our practice philosophy. My wife has 13 years experience as a practicing dentist, and I have spent the last six years improving my speed and efficiency and in both my military, public health (concurrent) and private positions. I have definitely pushed the boundaries of my comfort zone with procedures and it has helped my grow substantially as a provider. I consistently outperform set performance metrics in my position, and we invest heavily in CDE (Spear and Pankey). Given my background in the corporate arena, and our combined experience, it's our hope to make the transition to private practice ownership in 2024.
