My ultimate career objective is to be viewed as a leader of a dental team, a patient family, and within my community. As the leader of a dental team, my career objective is to cultivate an environment in which each member of the team feels personally fulfilled and works harmoniously together to provide a patient service that is warm, compassionate, and consistent. As a dentist, my career objective is to provide patients with the peace of mind of knowing that their needs are being met through a foundational focus on function, esthetics, and preventative care, and a commitment to lifelong learning through continuing education and technology integration. For those who are in physical or psychological pain, or are unhappy with the appearance or condition of their teeth, my career objective is to restore their oral health and overall appearance, recognizing that in doing so I am also helping to restore their dignity and sense of self-worth. Within my community, I would like to be viewed as someone who makes an impact through volunteer work and dental mission trips. By focusing on these career objectives, I will make myself a better person and contribute towards a better world.
The professional characteristics that I value within myself and strive to improve upon include passion and commitment, a "Golden Rule" approach to personal integrity and clinical care, as well as emotional intelligence and sensitivity in my dealings with others. At the heart of my approach to dentistry is an innate understanding that the dental office is often seen as a place of fear and anxiety for patients. As such, my ultimate philosophy is to provide an environment in which patients can feel safe and cared for, which is achieved through providing service that is always warm, compassionate, and consistent.
I am a native of Louisville, Kentucky, and grew up with a devoted family that instilled good moral principles and characteristics from a young age. I attended Saint Xavier Catholic School, and have grown and maintained connections with people within the community of Louisville through social events and volunteering work. I am a hard working and highly motivated individual, who takes pride in my character and my commitment to my professional vocation and to my family. I have a beautiful family, including one daughter, who is the light of my life. My personal motivation is to be able to provide a safe and abundant life for my family, and to instill the same values and character that my parents so graciously taught me. In my spare time, my hobbies include connecting with friends and family, hiking and enjoying the beauty of nature, exercising, and reading.
University of Kentucky (2008-2012) - Bachelor of Sciences majoring in Biology, with a minor in Classics.
University of Louisville School of Dentistry (2012-2016) - DMD degree, Class Representative for Ethics in Dentistry, leader of a committee that wrote the Graduation Oath that is still currently read by every dental student upon graduation.
East Carolina University (2016-2017) - Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program.
CPR and BLS Certification, up to date on all OSHA and HIPPA training. Avid consumer of in person and online CE, dental podcast listener. Completed CE program in implant training through the Alabama Implant Education center in Bessemer, Alabama. Attended the Simplifying Complex Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry CE Course taught by Dr. BIll Strupp in March 2020.
