Additional Information
As a practicing orthodontist in a group private practice setting in Florida, I’m open to relocating and finding my long-term career home. I’m looking for a partnership and/or ownership opportunity. I ultimately want to grow a successful, thriving orthodontic practice, build and maintain a collaborative, supportive working environment, promote overall practice success, continue to grow personally and professionally, take on a wide variety of orthodontic cases as well as apply unique, innovative treatment modalities in a modern setting using up-to-date technology. I have experience with using MBT brackets, Roth 018 brackets, Invisalign, Spark, uLab, Carriere, Herbst and Forsus appliances, and I’m open to learning additional treatment modalities. I hope that based on my story and experiences that you will be excited and open about discussing any opportunity you may have available.
I was born and raised in Clearwater, FL, and have 1 brother and 1 sister, both of whom are dentists. I'm the youngest of 3 siblings. My father is a veterinarian and my mother is a homemaker. I grew up in the Palm Harbor, FL area and used to attend swimming, tennis and physical fitness classes in the local community center and YMCA. I went to Tarpon Springs Elementary School, then Berkeley Preparatory School for middle school, and finally Palm Harbor University High School before going to college and dental school at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, working out, spending time with friends and family, and playing tennis, golf and pickleball!
Through research, continuing education, and participation in dental organizations, I used my time in dental school and after graduation to gain exposure to all branches of dentistry and network with my fellow colleagues. I have attended many courses through my involvement with professional organizations, such as the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, and the Florida Association of Orthodontists since starting the orthodontics residency program. I took part in the first inaugural class in the Mastering the Business of Orthodontics course put on by the American Association of Orthodontics, in which I learned about running a successful and profitable private orthodontic practice. I also learned about the latest advancements in orthodontic technology at the Florida Association of Orthodontists meeting in Tampa, FL. While I am confident that my education and experiences thus far have prepared me to diagnose and treat patients in all facets of dentistry, I am excited to enter the orthodontic world where I expect my learning to increase exponentially into the future.I strongly believe that my positive attitude, energy, enthusiasm, willingness to learn, interpersonal communication skills and cultural competence will allow me to be an asset to the practice. Before entering the field of dentistry, I gained experiences in community engagement and conflict resolution in my roles as resident assistant in University of Florida on-campus housing and a student ambassador for the Multicultural & Diversity Affairs department. During my general practice dental residency program, I was able to communicate effectively to Spanish speaking patients and provide quality treatment as I was able to understand their needs and expectations. All of these milestones have given me a fundamental understanding of how to appropriately communicate with people from a variety of racial and ethnic backgrounds, and the soft skills I gained will certainly be a valuable addition to your practice.
